SEEKING PRIVATE INSTRUCTION?
If you have been directed to this web site
for private guitar lessons
from a telephone answering device,
referral from a guitar store
or a personal referral,
thank you for your interest!!
(If you seek a teacher for a child,
please read the link Kids & Guitars.)
When I have private guitar lesson openings,
they are available to beginners,
intermediates, advanceds, professionals
and those needing to prepare for auditions.
If you are in Bergen County NJ or
Airmont, Hillburn, Montebello, Suffern or Tallman, NY
and you would like to explore the possibility
of private lessons,
please call to discuss it with me at
551•404•2238, or
e-mail your lesson query to me
and I will get back to you shortly.
It's preferable for you to call.
The method I teach is an
all-encompassing approach
that results in complete musicianship
for the guitarist.
If all you wish to do with your guitar
is play a few particular songs
or accompany a voice with a few chords,
I am not the instructor for you.
If what you you seek
is to improve your tab skills,
please read the link Tab vs Notation.
BUT... if what you're seeking
is to thoroughly learn and understand
the guitar and become a well versed
and well rounded guitarist,
I may be the instructor for you.
To further help you make a decision
about whom to hire as a guitar teacher,
please read the link Find a Teacher
and contact several instructors
before you make your final decision.
Hiring a guitar teacher
is not like buying a pack of gum,
which is cheap and you're done
with it pretty quickly.
Hiring a guitar teacher
is more like buying a car.
It's a proposition that will require
a regular, weekly expense,
maintenance and a relationship
with another person you trust
to deliver what you are paying them to do.
Consider your options carefully.
All beginner students should learn to play,
initially on acoustic
or acoustic electric guitars.
If you have or are a beginner
who insists on being taught
on a solid body electric guitar,
I am not the instructor for you.
Thanks for your interest in private instruction.
If I sound like a teacher
you would like to consider,
please contact me at 551•404•2238 or
any other means on the contact page.

Email Me if you'd like to submit
a Question of the Week or
suggest an additional segment topic.
If I use one you submit,
I'll send you an official
Guitar Technique Tutor Podcast pick.
Tell a guitarist friend who might also have questions.
